Bio Details
Shaikh Abdool Hamid is a graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia where he specialized in Hadith. After graduation, Shaikh Abdool Hamid settled in Toronto, Canada and began teaching at various mosques and institutions in Toronto and it’s surrounding areas. He served as an assistant Imam and religious teacher at the Islamic Foundation of Toronto where he introduced an intensive study of the Arabic language. He became instrumental in the successful establishment of the Islamic Institute of Toronto and been teaching Arabic Language, Tafsir, Hadith Studies and other discipline for almost 25 years.
Shaikh Abdool Hamid has also graduated from the al-Madina University of Malaysia where he earned a Masters of Hadith Studies.
He has contributed immensely to the Muslim community in Canada and has been engaged in spiritual and family counselling for the past two decades, including a position as Spiritual Counsellor with the Islamic Social Services and Resource Association. He is also a regular Khateeb and teacher at various Islamic Centres across the Greater Toronto Area, and has led professional development and training seminars in the Caribbean and West Indies.
He lives in Toronto with the wife and six children. His interests and hobbies include fishing, camping and repairing automobiles.
