About Course

The 40 Hadith of Imam al-Nawawi is one of the most popular books in the Islamic sciences.   In it, al-Nawawi gathers hadith that are considered the "axis of faith" since they cover the essence of the religion of Islam.  This course will take students through an explanation of the 40 hadith (in reality, 42 hadith) chosen by Imam al-Nawawi.

Students taking this class have two options:

1) Attendance for general interest (no ijaza);

2) Attendance to obtain ijaza (formal certification).  Students seeking ijaza must attend all sessions in their entirety and must be able to accurately read and pronounce Arabic text.
