Abdullah Hakim Quick
About the instructor
Dr Abdullah Hakim Quick is a historian, social activist and religious leader of African and Native American descent. He has travelled to over 58 countries doing research and delivering lectures to various communities. His qualification in Islamic Studies comes from a BA from the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia and his history background is shaped by an MA and PhD from the History Department of the University of Toronto, Canada. Shaikh Abdullah is currently a senior instructor at the Islamic Institute of Toronto.
This course will stretch over the period of January to April, 2021, Inshallah and include the following:
1. Guidelines for the Spiritual Aspects of life that show us how to look at the world, how to deal with crisis, how to stay focused and how to stay out of depression and stay in tune with our Creator.
2. Everyday guidelines for practicing Islam in new circumstances. We are living in rapidly changing times and need principles for how to respond to these challenges.
3. Key areas of focus for development and protection of our minds, families and communities.
· The concepts will be taken from the writings of Imam Al Ghazali, Sidi Ahmad Zarrouq, Shaykh Uthman Dan Fodio, Shaykh Yusuf Al Qaradawi and others. Attention will be paid to making the examples relevant to our present situation and leaving room for Questions.
